JANUARY 25, 2010
A motorist cows out on Hwy 21 just west of Hwy 77.
Deputy Lapham was dispatched to the scene. The cows were
taken to the Giddings Auction Barn until the owner can be
located.
Captain Gonzales assisted with a civil standby at a
residence on Meadow Run in
Several motorists reported a large fire in front of
Colorstar Growers on Hwy 290 West. Deputy Ray responded
and advised it was a control burn.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a complainant
who reported that a man pulled a gun on him and then hung up the
phone. Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Aderhold looked for
a tan Cadillac that left possibly going towards
JANUARY 26, 2010
A local business on Hwy 290 West called in and reported
that an elderly man stopped in and was asking for directions but
seemed disoriented. Deputy York responded and contacted
the man’s family and they had been looking for him for three
hours. The man was given a courtesy ride to the Sheriff’s
Office to await his family.
A resident on CR 230 called and reported that her neighbor
is shooting at her birds and wants him to stop. Deputy
Durrenberger responded and spoke to the complainant and the
neighbor.
JANUARY 27, 2010
A motorist reported a possible drunk driver on Hwy 290
West heading eastbound. A female driving a gold or copper
colored sports car and was reportedly driving in the oncoming
traffic lanes. Deputy Lapham and Trooper Thorp
searched for the vehicle which they later located and the driver
checked out okay and was released.
Deputy Carvin was dispatched to CR 232 after a resident
called and reported that she had locked her keys in her vehicle
and her two year old was inside. Deputy Carvin was
dispatched and got the door unlocked.
JANUARY 28, 2010 Deputy Easley
ran some cows off the roadway that were out on Hwy 77 north of
A motorist reported that a horse was running loose on CR
130. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a complainant at
Westwood Villa Apartments reporting that someone had cut her
tire. Deputy Lapham responded and reported that a nephew
was mad at her and had let the air out of her tire.
Deputy Lapham was dispatched to FM 3403 approx ½ mile off
Hwy 77 after a motorist reported a donkey out in the middle of
the road.
A caller reported a possible break in on CR 316. All
the locks had been cut off the ranch hands living quarters and
there was a mattress inside as if someone had been staying there
recently. Deputy Lapham is investigating the matter.
JANUARY 29, 2010
Deputy Carvin was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 21
after a caller reported seeing a lot of smoke coming from the
top of a roof of a house just west of the Walch Store. It
was determined to be the chimney.
A motorist reported that a car slid off the road on Hwy
290 near FM 180. Deputy Aderhold responded and issued the
driver a blue form.
Deputy Crockett took a report of mailbox damage on CR 318.
Several mailboxes in the area were also damaged.
A motorist reported a man sitting partially in the roadway
on FM 448 near Rabb’s creek bridge. Chief Deputy Kothmann,
Deputy York and Deputy Robertson responded. They spoke to
the man and advised he was walking to his brother’s house.
Everything was okay.
Deputy Robertson put up cows that were out on Hwy 290 West
at CR 202.
The Sheriff’s Office had reports that the creek on CR 309
@ CR 316 were overflowing onto the roadway due to the rain.
JANUARY 30, 2010
Chief Deputy Kothmann and Deputy Lapham responded to a
welfare concern on FM 141. The man causing the problem
left and went to a friend’s house.
Deputy Durrenberger recovered two precinct #3 signs along
with a Warren Road sign and a Jackson Road sign.
A caller reported cows out on FM 696 approx 3 miles east
of Lexington. Deputy Durrenberger checked FM 696 from
Lexington to the county line and was unable to locate cows out.
A motorist reported four horses out on CR A. One of
the horses was actually stuck in the fence. Deputy Ray and
Deputy Aderhold were dispatched and were able to free the horse.
The owner was notified.
JANUARY 31, 2010
Deputy Ray was dispatched to a possible accident on CR
223. It was determined that the driver had been in an
accident but did not remember where. The driver had some
facial lacerations and was transported by B&M Ambulance.
The accident was turned over to Trooper Thorp.
A caller reported that his wife nearly struck a donkey
that was out on the roadway on FM 3403. Deputy Aderhold
was dispatched and removed the donkey from the road.
A resident on FM 448 @ FM 2239 advised that sometime
during the night someone drove through his fence.
Investigation continues.
Deputy Easley answered a disturbance call on CR 314.
The female caller requested assistance because her children’s
father would not let her get back into her car. There is a
protective order.

In the month of January the Lee County Dispatchers
received 268 calls for service, the Lee County Jail had 1544
inmate jail days in population and 88 inmate jail days in
holding.
