Giddings Police investigating equipment theft at GHS construction site

Giddings police are investigating the theft of several pieces of construction equipment reportedly taken from a worksite at Giddings High School. The equipment was being used on a paving project at the newly renovated Buffalo Stadium.

 

Reported missing were two walk-behind cement finishers valued at $3000.00 apiece. Two generators were also taken from the site, they are valued at over $1000.00 each. One plate compactor was also taken. Its value was reported at $3000.00.

 

The equipment belonged to a contractor working for Gaeke Construction. The theft was reported by Richard Parker Isbell of Georgetown. According to police the report was made at 1:54 P.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2010. The exact time of the theft was not listed in the report.

 

The total value of the loss was listed at $11,100.00, making the crime a fourth degree felony.

 

The case remains open with no known suspects.
