To help them understand
"needs" and "wants" and how to save money, the students heard from two
visitors who work in the local financial industry; Mr. Wayne Galipp and
Mrs. Angie Brown. The two financial professionals work for First
National Bank in Giddings.
In September, the students studied about community helpers and had Giddings City Manager Mr. Hector Forestier and his crew come into the classrooms to discuss their various jobs within the city. The students learned about the library, the water department, the police department, the fire department, and the judge's office; and how the community needs all of these people to help keep it operating in an orderly fashion.
