FEBRUARY 2, 2009

Deputy York assisted with a civil standby on F.M. 1624 while a male subject removed his belongings from the residence.

A caller reported to Captain Gonzales that her relative had not been heard from and she was getting worried. 

Deputy Easley was dispatched to a residence on Meadow Run Drive.  The residence had been burglarized.  Investigation continues.

The Sheriff’s Office received a car regarding two suspicious vehicles near the dumpsters at the Texas Star Animal Clinic.  Deputy Robertson was dispatched but advised that both vehicles were gone upon his arrival.  The building was found to be secure.

A caller reported to Deputy Robertson and Deputy Easley that she heard a knock on her door and was knocked unconscious by an intruder.  A report was made and charges are pending at this time.

Deputy Pettijohn took an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle report from a subject who stated that a male subject jumped into his car and drove off.  The vehicle is entered into the TCIC/NCIC computer as a stolen vehicle.

FEBRUARY 3, 2009

A motorist reported that while she was traveling down C.R. 305 she came across a black truck that was in the roadway and appeared to have been in a wreck.  Deputy Pettijohn assisted Trooper Goodson.

Sheriff Meyer and Captain Gonzales were dispatched to C.R. 133 to meet with a land owner who called and reported that his tank is low due to the drought and while checking on it today noticed the top of a vehicle in his tank.  The vehicle was pulled from the water and the owner of the truck was contacted.

An anonymous caller reported two burn ban violators on F.M. 141.  Deputy Robertson spoke to both parties and the fires were put out.

FEBRUARY 4, 2009

Deputy York and Deputy Carvin assisted with a funeral escort from Immanuel Luther to the Giddings City Cemetery.

A caller reported a burn ban violator on C.R. 134.  Deputy Robertson located the fire and the people were in the process of putting it out when he arrived.

FEBRUARY 5, 2009

Deputy York went to Bartlett State Jail and picked up an inmate and transported him back to Lee County because he had outstanding Lee County warrants.

Deputy Crockett was dispatched to F.M. 1624 after a motorist reported horses running along the road.

A caller reported a possible drunk driver in a white older model Ford truck.  Deputy Durrenberger located the vehicle at the Walch Store.  The driver was taken into custody and booked without incident.

A subject met with Deputy Robertson to file a theft report.  A report was made and investigation continues.

A Lexington Officer received a call regarding a fight in progress with weapons involved at the Lexington football field.  Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Robertson assisted at the scene.  Two parties involved were issued citations by Chief Davenport.

Deputy Carvin, Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Robertson located a vehicle that was reported stolen earlier in the week.  The vehicle was cleared from the computer and the owner was contacted.

FEBRUARY 6, 2009

A motorist reported a truck on fire on Hwy 21 at C.R. 403.  Deputy Aderhold and Dime Box Fire Department were dispatched.  The fire department advised that a round bale of hay was on fire in the road, not a vehicle.

Chief Deputy Kothmann was dispatched to a disturbance on Hwy 77 North.  The caller reported that her son was out of control and very irate because she would not allow him to take any more of his medication than what the prescription read.   The subject finally calmed down.  A few hours later the subject stabbed himself in the chest and was Starflight to a hospital.

A caller reported a dark blue vehicle parked on C.R. 118.  Deputy Robertson searched the area but was unable to locate any vehicle.

FEBRUARY 7, 2009

Deputy York responded to a residence on C.R. 430 after a caller reported that someone had struck his mailbox and knocked it into his pasture.

A motorist reported approx. 15 head of cattle out on C.R. 127.  Deputy Robertson put up the cattle but was unable to contact the owner of the cattle.

FEBRUARY 8, 2009

A resident spoke to Deputy Aderhold about people trespassing on his property and dumping beer bottles and trash.  A close patrol of the area is in effect.

The driver of an 18 wheeler reported that his tires were on fire.  Deputy Durrenberger and Giddings Fire Dept. were dispatched.

Deputy York responded to a mental subject that was refusing to leave a residence on C.R. C.  The subject was transported back to his house.

Deputy Easley assisted Trooper Manner at the scene of an accident on Hwy 21 East.

A caller reported to Deputy Durrenberger that her son had received a text message from someone he did not know and it scared him.  The message said that there was a bomb under his vehicle.  It was determined that the subject that sent the message had the wrong phone number and it was meant to be a joke.
